Welcome to Westside Youth Rugby. Whether you are new to rugby or are an experienced player, our goal is to create an inclusive team environment that encourages enthusiasm for the game. Our USA Rugby certified coaches specialize in introducing new players and parents to the sport of rugby, and we have the largest girls TRY Rugby program in Colorado.
Our certified coaches work with our players to improve individual skills and abilities, so each athlete develops to their full potential. The sportsmanship, athletic skill and fitness our players develop while playing rugby help our young athletes to improve at sports such as football, soccer, basketball and lacrosse.
Westside Youth Rugby competes as part of the Rugby Colorado summer TRY Rugby Program- one of the most successful youth rugby leagues in the United States. We field 2 non-contact/touch rugby teams and 6 contact/tackle rugby teams for our players. Our season runs from the first week of May to the last week of June; and we have flexible practice schedules to accommodate busy summer schedules.
We currently provide youth rugby for the areas of: South West Jeffco, Littleton, Lakewood, Morrison, Golden, Wheatridge and Arvada.
Available Teams:
Age groups are determined by the player's age on May 1, 2011.
- U7 Coed - Age 5, 6 and 7, non-contact/flag rugby
- U9 Boys- Age 8 and 9, contact/tackle rugby
- U11Coed - Age 8 through 11, non-contact/flag rugby
- U11 Boys - Age 10 and 11, contact/tackle rugby
- U13 Boys - Age 12 and 13, contact/tackle rugby
- U13 Girls - Age 11, 12 and 13 contact/tackle rugby
- U15 Boys - Age 14 and 15, contact/tackle rugby
- U17 Girls - Age 14 through 18 contact/tackle rugby.
